36. Out of Many Windows
By default, every time you click a folder inside a folder (inside a folder . . .), you'll see the contents of that folder in a separate window. Tired of all that window mess on your screen? Tell Windows 95 to open "related" folders--as in, a folder inside a folder inside a folder--in the same window.
Open any folder and select View, Options. On the Folder tab, select the second option, Browse Folders Using a Single Window. Click OK and enjoy your neat and tidy desktop! (Tip: If you need to reverse this
decision on a one-time-only basis, hold down Ctrl as you double-click a folder. Its contents will appear in a separate window.)
(Note: If you have IE 4.0 installed, select View, Folder Options, and on the General tab, select Custom, Based on the Settings You Choose. Click the Settings button to the right of this option, select Open Each Folder in the Same Window, and click OK twice.)
